The Final Card in the Quick and Easy Christmas Card Series

Over the past few days, I've shared some of the projects I've made using the Stay Warm stamp set and Christmas Tags and More DSP. I was amazed at how easily the cards and other items came together!

The colors in the Christmas Tags and More DSP are Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Real Red, and Soft Sea Foam.  I also used the coordinating card stock colors for my cards.

One of the really great things about this DSP pack is that it comes with 6 x 6 DSP, tags and ephemera to use for tags, cards and scrapbook pages. It is acid and lignin free so it is safe for memory preserving.

I began the card using a Garden Green card base.  I stamped a tone-on-tone background using Garden Green ink and images from the Stay Warm stamp set.  The sentiment was from a retired Christmas set.  I cut the Crumb Cake dotted panel from one of the pieces of paper in the DSP pack as well as all the other patterned pieces.

The stocking image is one of the tags in the pack as well as the red plaid and holly strips of paper. I layered the stocking tag on the green gingham piece from the pack and layered both on Real Red card stock.

I stamped the heart image from the Stay Warm stamp set in Real Red ink and fussy cut it out. Then I adhered it to the top of the tag using a dimensional.

This concludes my Quick and Easy Christmas Card Series.  I hope you were able to gain a few ideas for your Christmas cards.

Did you have a favorite one? I would love to hear which one it was!

How to Create a Watercolor Pumpkin Card

I love the look of watercolor on cards, but I'm not that great at watercolor painting.  However, I am really good at watercolor stamping!  There are two keys to being successful with this technique...using watercolor paper and solid stamps!

I began by cutting my watercolor paper to 4 x 5.25 so I could use it on a card front if that was how I thought it would work best (in the end, I decided to die cut postage images with it).

I reached back deep in my retired stash for the Fall Fest stamp set.  It has some great solid images of pumpkins on it. To do this technique you need to:

1) Place your stamp on your block.

2) Gather a few colors of orange. Ink spots work best, but you can use the larger stamp pads as well. I inked   my lightest color first, Crushed Curry, then added some Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze inks around the yellow.

3) Lightly spritz your inked stamp with a mist of water from the small spritzer bottle and allow the water to blend the colors, then stamp your pumpkin image on the watercolor paper.  It won't look so good at first, but give it time to dissolve into the paper and dry.  It always looks better when dry!

4) I usually spritz it again and get another image before adding the ink again.

5) Allow the images to dry before using them. They can be fussy cut out or used as a background.  I stamped an A2 panel and two pages of the pumpkins so I would have plenty to create with. I also stamped some leaves using this same technique but with Old Olive and Garden Green inks.

I used second generation stamping on my panel to lightly stamp some text from the Elements of Text stamp set for more texture. I also did this to one of the pumpkins I fussy cut out.

I used a postage die to cut out the images and was ready to assemble my card.

I used an A2 Very Vanilla card base and a panel cut from retired Copper Clay card stock. I ran the panel through the Stamp, Cut and Emboss machine using the Gathering Leaves embossing folder.

I cut a banner die from the Stylish Shapes dies and stamped "Many Thanks" from the Gather Moments stamp set in Copper Clay ink.  Then I wrapped some twine around one of the postal images and tied a bow,

I arranged the images as shown and adhered them to the card front. The long postal image and the pumpkin are adhered with dimensionals. To finish off the card, I added some glossy enamel dots.

I began with a piece of Crumb Cake card stock cut to an A2 size.  I cut various pieces from the DSP pack and assembled them as shown.  I stamped the heart from the Stay Warm stamp set and a Paper Pumpkin sentiment in Real Red ink then fussy cut the heart out.

I added a Shimmer Star Foam Stickers in white to the top of the tree to finish off the card.

One Last Paper Pumpkin Fall for Toile Card

I have really enjoyed working with this kit!  There were so many beautiful elements in it. The upcoming kit is going to be our first Christmas kit of the year and some images are going to be flocked!  That is going to be another kit that will be fun to work with!

I began by using the light brown toile card base.  I felt the yellow leaves were a little to bright for my card design, so I put a little of the Cajun Craze ink spot on a clear stamping block and spritzed a little water on it.  I picked up the color with my water painter and swiped it across the yellow portion of the leaves then gave it some time to dry.

I also stamped three of the pumpkin images and one of the acorn images from the kit in the Cajun Craze ink and added color with the same water color wash to two of the images. I used the same technique to add Timid Tiger ink to the third set of pumpkins.  After they dried, I fussy cut them out.

I stamped a Bible verse sentiment on the hexagon die from the Hugs Abloom Paper Pumpkin add on dies in Early Espresso ink.  I placed the sentiment in the center of the card to determine where I wanted to place my leaves.  I wanted them on the upper left and lower right of my sentiment.  I adhered them with Tombo glue, then adhered my sentiment with dimensionals.  I also used dimensionals to adhere my three fussy cut pumpkin images.  The acorn image was added to the upper left of the sentiment with glue.

To finish off the card, I added some Timid Tiger flat pearls around the sentiment.

Holiday Treat Containers Class #4

Thanks for stopping by today for our last Holiday Treat Containers Class!  The project today is bagelopes!  Bagelopes are small bags made from envelopes!

I'm using A2 envelopes, but you can use any envelopes you have on hand. You may just need to adjust the measurements a little bit.

Begin by sealing your envelope.  Then score 1/2 inch in on the bottom and two sides. Then cut the top off as close to the edge as possible.

Use a bone folder to burnish your score lines.  Score them forward and backward to weaken the paper fibers.

Place your hand inside the envelope and begin pushing the bottom with your other hand.  You will eventually work the middle fold to the inside of the bag and the score lines work to create a bottom for your bag.  Then do the same on both sides.

You will end up with a triangle shape at the bottom on each side.  Once you have the shape of the bag completed, fold these triangles in toward the center.

To finish off the bags, embellish for the holiday you are creating for.  I used the following supplies:

I am planning on making these for my Thanksgiving table as place cards and filling them with small favors.

Thanks for joining me for my Holiday Containers Class. I hope you were able to gain a few ideas for the upcoming season!

Join me in November for Peppermint Party Week. Watch for more information coming in mid-October!

Christmas Tags and More Meets Stay Warm Stamp Set #3

What do you get when you combine these products? You get a lot of great cards that are quick and easy! Over the next few days, I'm going to share some of the projects I've made using these two products.

I began by cutting a piece of Basic White card stock to an A2 size.  I also cut a piece of the DSP with the mistletoe pattern at 4.25 x 5.5 to cover the front of my card base. I also cut one of the tags that had the plaid print on the back, flipped it to the plaid side and layered it with Real Red Card stock.  I adhered it to the left side of the card about a half inch from the spine of the card.  I used a dimensional to raise the bell ephemera from the DSP pack to the top of the plaid piece.

I cut a long piece of of Basic White card stock using the Textured Note dies and stamped a sentiment from the June 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit.

...and just like that, my card was done.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for another quick and easy Christmas card!

My second card in the series is on an A2 Soft Sea Foam card stock. I stamped the mittens and socks on a Crumb Cake patterned sheet from the DSP pack. Then I stamped the sweater and hat on the beautiful plaid paper from the pack. All the images are from the Stay Warm stamp set.

I cut a panel of Basic White card stock at 3.75 x 5 and embossed it with the Forever Plaid embossing folder. I also cut a layer of Real Red card stock at 4 x 5.25 and layered both of these on the front of my card.

I stamped the "warm wishes" from a retired set in Real Red ink on a die cut rectangle and arranged the pieces in an eye pleasing way.

There is also a stamp from the September Paper Pumpkin that would work well with this set.  It is the one that says, "Warm Wishes".  I added some ephemera from the paper pack to finish off the card.

...and just like that, my card was done.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for another quick and easy Christmas card!

My first card is on an A2 Real Red card base. I cut a small panel from the green plaid in the kit for the anchoring panel of my stamped images. Then I stamped the mittens from the set in Real Red ink for a tone-on-tone background.  I also stamped the mittens and hat on white card stock in the same ink.

I stamped the "warm wishes" from a retired set on a die cut circle and arranged the pieces in an eye pleasing way. There is also a stamp from the September Paper Pumpkin that would work well with this set.  It is the one that says, "Warm Wishes".  I also added some twine to connect the mittens like real mittens for children to keep from losing them.

The wreath and bow are ephemera from the paper pack.

A Halloween Card Challenge? Yes, Please!

Each Monday the Global Design Project announces their weekly card challenge on Instagram.  This week's challenge is SPOOKY!  My favorite type of cards to make!

I began by looking through my Halloween stash...Spooky Halloween Bundle? Fright Night Bundle? Party Celebraions? Sooo many to choose from!  I finally decided to go with...all three!

I began by ink blending a Basic White card stock panel cut at 4 x 5.25 using Old Olive, Misty Moonlight, Night of Navy and Basic Gray inks. I created a moon using a small circle from a post it note and ink blended over it  Then I gently splattered some water on the panel and blotted it up.  Did you know Stampin' Up!'s ink is water reactive?  Look closely at the great splatter effect I got by doing this simple technique!

Then I used a cloud stencil to add some faint spooky clouds. I stamped the bats from the Spooky Halloween stamp set in Black Memento ink. I also gently ink blended over the moon with Basic Gray ink so that it wasn't quite as stark and prominent.

I used the Party Celebrations stamp set to stamp and fussy cut three jack-o-lanterns and adhered them to the bottom portion of the card.  I cut the banner and EEK! from the Fright Night dies.  The sentiment is also from this bundle. I chose Lost Lagoon ink and card stock for these pieces.

I finished off the card with some white Shimmer Star Foam Stickers.

Fall Officially Arrives Today!

Yay! Fall will arrive at 2:19 today! This is when the Autumn Equinox arrives in North America! We can officially begin the fun activities that come with their amazing season...corn mazes, bonfires, pumpkin carving, and everything pumpkin spice!

I'm celebrating with another fall card (I've been in the mood for Fall for several weeks now!) :)

I decided to mute the bright yellow leaves in the kit by water coloring over them with Cajun Craze ink.  I pressed the ink spot on a stamping block and used my water painter to mix some water with the ink, then I swiped it over the yellow leaves. I really like how they turned out.

I used the linen looking card base from the kit and stamped some of the sentiments randomly on the card using the Cajun Craze ink spot, using first and second generation stamping. I had some small spaces left open, so I stamped the small leaf images in those areas. Then I stamped the Wishing you... greeting from the kit on the circle that was included in the kit.  I adhered the leaves to the card base with the toile background, then used dimensionals to adhere the sentiment onto the card.

I stamped the cute pumpkin pair from the kit on Basic White card stock, used my water painter to add a little Cajun Craze ink and adhered it to the lower right side of the sentiment.

I added a few Copper Clay embellishments randomly around the card and a small amount of splatter in Cajun Craze ink to finish it off.

Wishing you a blessed and happy fall!

Vintage Fall for Toile Paper Pumpkin Card

I was thinking about creating a vintage card with the new Paper Pumpkin kit so I did some crinkling, inking, embossing and sanding to come up with this card.

I used the Gathering Leaves embossing folder on the dark brown card base then sanded off the raised image on the top left and bottom right of the card. Then I spritzed the cornstalk image and crinkled it several times before inking it with the Cajun Craze ink spot.  I also peeled two of the corners back for more of a weathered look.

I cut one of the leaf bunches into two pieces and placed them behind the tattered corners of the cornstalk image.  I also tied a piece of Early Espresso twine around one of the brown ribbons for more texture and adhered the "Thankful" with dimensionals to the center of the card.

Have you tried a vintage card with this kit? If so, I'd love to see it!

Final "In the Box" Fall for Toile Paper Pumpkin Alternative

This is the last of my "In the Box" Paper Pumpkin alternatives.  Once I receive my kit, I make three alternative cards using only supplies from the box to make three alternative cards.  This is my third card with the Fall for Toile kit.

I began with the brown card base from the kit and stamped the leaf images with the Cajun Craze ink spot diagonally down the card to represent falling leaves.  I cut the lighter brown card base to a square card to use on a later project and used a strip of the left over piece to create a background banner.  I flagged the right side and adhered it to the card.

Then I cut a piece of the cornstalk image and adhered it to the left side of the card.  I cut the brown ribbon in half to fray it for a more weathered look and adhered it with Tear and Tape to the card.

I finished by stamping the acorn image on the small tan circle and adhered it with dimensionals to the card.

Below are the first two cards I made with only kit supplies.

I'll be working on a few more cards from the kit with additional supplies over the next few days.  Stop back soon to see more Fall for Toile samples!

Holiday Treat Containers Class #3

Today's containers involve die sets that have been created to make boxes!  There are many of these die sets on the market as well as templates for handmade boxes.  They are simple to assemble and can be used with card stock or DSP. If you don't have any of these dies, here is a link to a small box tutorial you can try.

I'm using the retired Little Treat Boxes to create my boxes today.  I chose to use DSP for each one.  This die works well with a 6 x 6 sheet of paper.

I began by running the DSP through the Stamp, Cut and Emboss machine with three different papers.  I assembled the boxes with Tear and Tape.  The size of these boxes will hold a small candy bar, earrings or a bracelet.

For the fall box, I used the Timeless Plaid DSP and the Circle of Season dies to create the acorns.

The Halloween box is made from the In Color DSP (Secret Sea), Spooky Halloween stamp set, and Cloud Cover ribbon. I colored the images with Stampin' Blend markers.

The Christmas box is made with the Christmas Tags and More DSP.  The candy cane image was one of the ephemera pieces in the package.  To change the shape, I just pinched the sides of the box outward so that it resembled tote.

All the sentiments are from past Paper Pumpkin kits.

If you don't have a die set that cuts cute little boxes, you are in luck!  There is a new die set in the September Mini catalog on page 29.  It is called Jolly Delivery Dies and there is DSP, a stamp set and embellishments that coordinate with them!  It has a unique closure that can be changed, depending on what you are gifting.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Join me next week for the final Holiday Treat Containers Class.  I will be sharing how to make small bags from envelopes!

"In the Box" Fall Paper Pumpkin Second Alternative

Here's my second Fall for Toile Paper Pumpkin Alternative. I used only supplies that came in the kit.

I stamped the light brown Toile printed card base with Cajun Craze ink spot using the sentiment stamps, sometimes using second generation stamping.

Tip: Second generation stamping is stamping the image a second time before re-inking the stamp.  This gives a lighter shade of the image, creating depth for your card.

The smaller circle with the acorn image is adhered with dimensionals.

Here is my first alternative using only supplies from the kit.  I'll have one more "in the box" alternative to share tomorrow, along with the third Holiday Treat Containers Class!  Be sure to stop back by tomorrow! :)

Nothing's Better Than...Pumpkin Spice Season!

Pumpkin Spice Season... and it is finally here! I love the cooler weather and the smell of crisp leaves in the air!  I would even go so far as to say that Fall is my favorite season!

I decided to celebrate this beautiful fall day by creating a card with the More Than Autumn stamp set.  I began by cutting an A2 card base from Going Gray card stock (retired). I cut a piece of retired plaid DSP with gray and orange a quarter in smaller for the front panel.

I stamped and cut several images from the set and colored them with Stampin' Blend markers.  I also cut a piece of vellum using a circle die to act as an anchor for my images.  I stamped the sentiment in Black Memento ink and die cut the "Pumpkin Spice Season" from the bundle in Pumpkin Pie card stock.  The small word "coffee" is also a die in the bundle.

This is such a great stamp set with words and images that can be cut from the dies.  Not only is it great for Autumn, it has images that can carry you through winter as well! I'll be reaching for it all season long!

Fall for Toile Paper Pumpkin Alternative

I am loving this month's Paper Pumpkin kit. My first few projects are going to be alternatives that can be created with only the products in the kit.

I always like to share these for beginning stampers or those who don't have a large stash of supplies. I've been stamping for over 25 years, so my stash is pretty evolved, but as a beginning crafter, it takes time to build your crafting toolbox!

Here is the link for the unboxing video so that you can see the supplies included in the kit and how the completed cards look as designed, Fall for Toile.

This is going to be a great kit to work with!  Stop by tomorrow for another "in the box" alternative!

How to Create an Embossed Resist Image

Have you ever tried doing an embossed resist card? It is fun to watch the image emerge and it creates an image that really stands out!

For my card today, I have created an embossed card using the A Child is Born stamp set and the Textured Notes dies.  I began by cutting a rectangle from the die set with Basic White card stock, then I heat embossed the manger and star image on the die cut rectangle.  On another sheet of white card stock, I embossed the lamb and donkey. I used white embossing powder for the image.  I also used Versa Mark ink and a heat tool for the embossing.

Next, I used washi tape to hold the rectangle die to a scrap sheet of paper.  I outlined the entire die sheet with washi tape. I ink blended Misty Moonlight ink of the stars, then Crushed Curry ink over the hay and Pecan Pie ink over the manger.  The white embossed parts won't absorb the ink to create a resist.  Once completed, I used a paper towel to wipe the ink off the embossed images.

In the stamp set, Mary is holding Baby Jesus and the manger is empty.  I stamped a partial image of Mary, only capturing the Baby Jesus.  I embossed it and fussy cut it out.  Then I used an hobby knife to cut a slit in the hay to slightly insert the Baby Jesus image.

I stamped the sentiment, "For unto us a child is born" using Misty Moonlight ink, then I created a white splatter with some acrylic paint and water. Then used a splatter brush to sprinkle white splatter on the blue portion of the card.

Next, I ink blended Pecan Pie ink  over the lamb and Pebbled Path ink (retired) over the donkey, once again wiping away the excess ink and causing the white image to pop.

I adhered the framed panel onto an A2 Basic White card stock.  Then I moved on the inside of the card. I cut another rectangle from the Textured Notes dies. and adhered it to the inside of the card. Then I stamped "O Come Let Us Adore Him in Misty Moonlight ink and then fussy cut the lamb and donkey, making sure to leave a small border around the images to assure the white stands out.

I stamped the sentiment "O Come Let Us Adore Him" in Misty Moonlight ink and placed the animals below it.

I love the look of an emboss resist card.  It is relatively easy yet so beautiful!  If you haven't tried it, give it a try! I guarantee you will love the outcome!

Another Blue and Orange Fall Card

I love a blue and orange color combo. Do you know why these two colors work so well together? They are complementary colors, which means th...
