Two Ways to Add Texture Backgrounds to Your Cards

Why should you add texture to your cards?  It builds a sense of depth and interest!  Today, I'm sharing two cards that have background textures.

The first card has texture added in two ways. First, I used the Woven Texture DSP.  It almost feels like I'm cheating by using the paper because it is so easy to use!  There are eight different types of woven textures  in this pack. I chose the one that resembles a grassy mat.  I also added background texture by tearing a piece of Cajun Craze two tone card stock and revealing the white core.

The card base is an A2 cut from Early Espresso card stock.  I also used a strip of Autumn Toile DSP and a few leaves cut with the Circle of Seasons dies.  My sentiment is on a banner from the Stylish Shapes die set. I finished off the card with some Early Espresso twine.

The second card added background texture using the Pressed Flowers embossing folder.  I embossed it on Cajun Craze two tone card stock and sanded the raised areas with a piece of fine sand paper to reveal the white core.  I also used the Forever Plaid embossing folder behind my sentiment.  This card also uses the Circle of Seasons dies and Autumn Toile DSP. The card base is Very Vanilla card stock.

The next time you are creating, think about adding some texture.  It will take your cards up a level!
