Have you seen the One Sheet Wonder on page 42 of the September Mini Catalog? The image shows how to cut your DSP to get six cards from one 12 x 12 sheet of paper. Not only do the images beside it also show how to use the different pieces on cards, they show how to dress up your DSP to take it up a notch.
Over the next 6 days, I'm going to share with you how I adapted this concept to make six Christmas cards. For my six cards, I'm going to use a piece of DSP from the North Pole Delivery pack. It is the plaid vanilla and cherry sheet. I will create six cards with this piece as a background on each of the cards.
Today's card is number 6 on page 42. To dress up the DSP, I used my Stampin' Write markers in Crumb Cake and Pool Party to add more lines to the plaid sheet. This creates the opportunity to add more colors to my card that coordinated with the dressed up DSP.
I stamped the kitchen mitt in Real Red ink and the piping bag in Pool Party ink, then used the dies from the bundle to cut them out. I also cut the cookie sheet from metallic card stock. Then I stamped the cookies in Pecan Pie and Real Red ink and die cut these images out. I didn't want the white outline on my images so I used the Pecan Pie Stampin' Blend marker to color the white outline. Then I adhered the cookies to the cookie sheet.
Once the card was assembled, I added a few vanilla dots to finish it off.
I love this cute Homemade Treats stamp set and feel like I will be able to use some of the images in it for other times of the year as well as the holidays!
