Do you like the look of a lot of texture on a card? My card today uses two different embossing folders, heat embossing and a watercolor image.
The stamp set I chose to use is A Child is Born from the September Mini Catalog. I began by cutting an arch shape for the front of my card in Basic White card stock. If you have Everyday Arches dies, they would work also. I spritzed the white panel with water then ran it through a wood design embossing folder.
Tip: The water breaks the paper fibers down to create a more defined texture.
I cut an A2 card base in Pebbled Path card stock (retired) and cut a panel 4 x 5.25 in the same color. I embossed this panel with a retired brick design embossing folder and adhered it to the card front.
On another piece of white card stock, I heat embossed the Holy Family image and the manger. I used watercolor paint to paint the images. The embossing worked as wells to keep the watercolors from mixing. I also stamped the two sentiments from the set in Pebbled Path ink.
This card is my submission for the Global Design Project #514 Sketch Challenge. Have you participated in a card challenge? If not, give it a try. There are several on Facebook and Instagram. To see more cards with the same sketch as my card, go to Instagram and search #gdp514.
Thanks for stopping by!
