Do you ever give sets of handmade cards as gifts? I do and I like to coordinate the products to make them look more professionally made.
I created this set of cards using the Charming Day bundle and Woven Textures DSP. I used re-inkers to watercolor the die images and the paper tearing technique on a few of them for more texture.Tip: Paper tearing reveals the white core found inside our DSP.
I also used the Forever Plaid embossing folder on the Basic Beige card in the top right quadrant to add texture to this card.
I used tone-on-tone stamping for the Lemon Lolly and Fresh Freesia cards (the two cards at the bottom). This is simply stamping the ink in the same color as the card stock. It is more prominent on the lavender card than it is on the yellow card, but look closely and you will see the faint images providing a subtle background. I chose to stamp two sentiments directly onto the card fronts in darker colors and two of the sentiments on die cut circles from the Spotlight on Nature dies. All sentiments are included in the Charming Day stamp set. I repeatedly stamped the birthday sentiment a couple of times before re-inking my stamp to create a faded effect. This is sometimes referred to as second generation stamping.
To finish off the card set, I added adhesive dots to each card in the coordinating colors.
Now all that is left to do is package the cards with a pretty bow and a coordinating gift tag!
