I remember Halloweens of long ago and trick-or-treating in the small town I grew up in. One of my favorite memories of those spooky nights was visiting family and special neighborhood friends who always had a special treat for me and my two sisters. Sometimes it was a quarter taped to a candy bar, a candied apple or popcorn ball.
Halloween trick-or-treating has changed a lot from the days when we went out to have our buckets filled with all sorts of treats, but giving special treats has not. I always try to make special treats for my grandchildren and the neighborhood children. I have started working on the treat tags for this year using the Spooky Sweet Suite which was released in July in the SU! Online Exclusives Store.
I began by cutting a tag shape from a piece of Basic White card stock. I stamped the cat and dog characters from the Spooky Halloween bundle on white card stock as well. I used my Stampin' Blend alcohol markers to color the images then cut them out using the coordinating dies.
I stamped the background stamp from the set in Basic Gray and Timid Tiger ink. Then I stamped the sentiment in Stazon Jet Black ink. I finished the tag by adding the Shimmer Star Foam Stickers, a piece of Timid Tiger Faux Linen ribbon and a bat cut from one of the dies in the bundle.
