Sometimes I look at a card and deconstruct it in my mind so that I can create a similar one. This is just how my mind works! So I have decided to create a category of cards with a mental picture of it deconstructed and call it Anatomy of a Card by Tonya. I will post these deconstructed cards every couple of weeks so keep an eye out for them! My goal is to help beginning stampers see how simple stamping can be!
My first Anatomy of a Card post will use the Floral Charm bundle, Fresh Freesia ink and card stock, and Woven Textures DSP.
I began by cutting a piece of Fresh Freesia card stock cut to an A2 size. I used Fresh Freesia ink to stamp a subtle background using the single floral image from the stamp set. I cut the multiple florals image from the coordinating die set and water colored it using my ink refills, then set it aside to dry.
I cut a 4" x 5.25" piece of the Woven Textures DSP, then tore it in half to reveal the white core. I adhered this near the bottom portion of the card, creating an even border on three of the sides.
Tip: When tearing DSP, tear it toward your body to reveal the white core.
I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the stamp set on the bottom right side of the card in Garden Green ink. Then I adhered the water colored image using dimensionals to the front of the card and added a few sparkling gems to finish the card.
That completes my first Anatomy of a Card by Tonya. I hope you found it helpful! :)
