3D Sunflower Trio

Do you like bright, cheerful sunflowers and sunflower cards? The 3D Sunflower embossing folder makes realistic, beautiful impressions of sunflowers for creating cards, scrapbook pages and other paper crafts. For the three cards I've made today, I tried a different coloring technique on each one. The sentiments I used for the cards are from the July Sweeter With You Paper Pumpkin kit.  All card bases are an A2 size.

For the first card, I cut florals from the Floral Impressions DSP. Then I used two of the Foiled Frames and Labels Ephemera pack to create a mini card for the front of the card. I used an ink spot to gently brush across the raised areas of embossing to add a little color and bring out the raised portions of the card.  I also made a macrame embellishment from Old Olive linen thread to conceal the folded crease on the left of the sentiment label.

For the second card, I used ink daubers to color the raised portions of the embossed panel.  I adhered the panel on a piece of Pecan Pie two tone card stock, then placed both pieces at an angle on a piece DSP from the retired Simply Zinnia DSP. My sentiment is also on a label from the Foiled Frames and Labels Ephemera pack.  I added some retired Copper Clay thread and adhesive pearls to finish the card.

For the third card, I cut a 4"x 5.25" sheet from the Floral Impressions DSP. I also cut a strip from an embossed piece of card stock using from the 3D Sunflower embossing folder and adhered it to the left side of the card.  I cut two floral images from another pattern in the DSP pack and layered them along with a leaf from the same page, then stamped my sentiment on another frame from the Foiled Frames and Labels Ephemera pack.  The "Fall" sentiment is from the More Than Autumn stamp set

I hope I've given you a few ideas on how to incorporate embossing folders into your cards. They are very versatile and can be used in lots of different ways. Plus, there are so many to choose from in the Annual Catalog and Online Exclusives shop!
