Thank you for stopping by for Day 3 of Candy Corn Week! Did you know there is a National Candy Corn Day?
October 30 is National Candy Corn Day.
Today's card uses the new Stay Warm stamp set and Stampin' Blend markers in the color of...candy corn! I began by cutting a Daffodil Delight A2 card base and a 4.25 x 5.5 panel of the same card stock. I ran the panel through the Stamp, Cut and Emboss machine after spritzing my panel with water.
Tip: Spritzing your panel with water before embossing it will weaken the paper fibers and give you a deeper impression.
I stamped the clothing images in Black Memento ink on Basic White card stock and colored them in a candy corn pattern using Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends. I fussy cut them out and set them aside. I also cut the two tag shapes from the Fright Night dies and used the negatives to create a peek through frame so the sweater pattern would show through the window. I added faux stitching around the edge of the orange panel. Then I cut three pieces from the "hello" die in the Circle of Seasons Paper Pumpkin Add On die set and layered them to create depth on my sentiment. You must be a Paper Pumpkin subscriber to purchase these dies.
I colored a piece of black and white gingham ribbon with the Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blend marker and attached it to my card with a glue dot.I will be posting cards and treats inspired by candy corn throughout this week and I'm inviting you to play along with me! So get out the yellow, orange and white inks and paper! I know you will want to create some tasty treat inspired projects too!
I will share candy corn memes, cards, tags and treat containers along with step by step directions on my blog so you can recreate them. I hope you will join in the fun by visiting my sites, leaving comments and even joining in by sharing your cards, treats and tags. You can also see them on Instagram using #CandyCornWeekSU. I added SU to the end of the hashtag because I will be using Stampin' Up! products but you can use any products you enjoy creating with!
So start thinking about all things candy corn and mark your calendars to join me the rest of this week!
