My July Paper Pumpkin Kit Has Arrived!

Hooray! My Sweeter With You Paper Pumpkin kit arrived and I decided to work with it this afternoon since it is so hot outside!  The strawberry theme is so very cute!

I decided to create two cards using only supplies from the kit so that if you get the kits and don't have a lot of other supplies, you can still recreate these cards!

For the first card, I used the Garden Green card base to create a horizontal card.  I tore a strip from the bottom edge about 3/4" from the bottom.  I made sure to tear it toward me to create the distressed, white edge on the card.

Then I cut a strip of the pink polka dot paper to adhere behind the strip on the green card base I just removed.  This creates a little piece of DSP peeking out from the bottom of the card.

I used one of the stamps from the kit to stamp the sentiment on one of the scalloped rectangular pieces in Garden Green ink. I also used the Garden Green ink to stamp some of the small flowers from the kit on the background of the card base. Then I arranged the strawberries in the basket, glued them in place and adhered this focal image to the lower right side of the card using dimensionals.

I stamped "You're the Best" in Garden Green ink on one of the pink rectangles from the kit and adhered it to the berry basket.  I used a half of a dimensional to the left side of the sentiment and glued the right side to the basket.  I did this because the berry basket already had dimensionals on it and I wanted the sentiment to be level across the front.

To finish off the first card, I used a stylus and my pierce mat to add some dimension to my flowers by pressing it to the center of each flower and gently twisting it. Each flower was adhered with a small glue dot from the kit.

For the second card, I used the pink and orange gingham card base.  I folded the left and right edges of the card base to the center score line to create a gate fold card.

To create the focal point, I adhered three of the kit's strawberries to the back of the berry basket and glued it to the pool party striped rectangle in the kit.  I placed glue only on the back left side of the piece so that the "gate" would still open to reveal the message inside.

I once again used the foam mat and stylus again to create some depth to my flowers before placing them on my card. I also stamped another sentiment from the kit to one of the pink rectangles and adhered it to the striped, rectangular piece.

I added some dimensionals to one of the punch out strawberries and placed it just above the sentiment on the lower right side.

I will be sharing more of my creations with the kit this week. I hope you will stop by to see other projects that can be created with this great kit!
