Have you seen the Storybook Friends Suite? I used it quite a bit during spring, but am finding I'm still reaching for it as summer approaches! It is filled with cute animal and gardening images.
I used it this week for my Global Design Project stamping challenge. Have you heard of it? Each week there is a new challenge and this week was to use a sketch they provided. They post the challenge every Monday on Instagram.
As I looked through my supplies, I kept coming back to the Storybook Friends suite, so I went with it.
For the first card, I used Crumb Cake card stock and stamped the garden image using the same color ink. I like using the tone-on-tone technique when I want to create a subtle background. I chose some DSP strips from the Timeless Plaid paper package. This is another product I am always using for my projects. I tore the top edge of each piece.
I stamped and colored some images from the suite using Stampin' Blends, then used the dies to cut them out. I used a small postage die to cut out a small stamp for my sentiment. Before I removed the paper from the die, I used an ink blending brush to gently add some Cajun Craze ink. I masked the "very much" from the "Thank you" stamp using washi tape to cover part of the stamp, inked it, then removed the tape before stamping. I also added a linen thread bow to finish it off.
For the second card, I used Boho Blue ink to stamp the cottage for a subtle background. I used strips of the Timeless Plaid DSP on this card as well.I stamped the rock wall and bunny images, colored them with Stampin' Blends, then die cut them out and adhered them to the card front. I stamped the sentiment, "Hello Friend" in Misty Moonlight ink directly to the card front.
This is a great sketch to use when you have lots of DSP scraps on hand! I hope you will give it a try!
