O Holy Night White Embossed Resist Card

Happy Sunday!  Christmas is just 9 Sundays away so I hope you have started creating your holiday cards! The stamp set I am using today is a great one to use for getting them done!

For my card today, I have created an embossed card using the A Child is Born stamp set and the Textured Notes dies.  I began by cutting a rectangle from the die set with Basic White card stock, then I heat embossed the manger and star image on the die cut rectangle.  I used white embossing powder for the image.  I also used Versa Mark ink and a heat tool for the embossing.

I ink blended Misty Moonlight ink on the stars, then Crushed Curry ink over the hay and Pecan Pie ink over the manger.  The white embossed parts won't absorb the ink to create a resist.  Once completed, I used a paper towel to wipe the ink off the embossed images.

In the stamp set, Mary is holding Baby Jesus and the manger is empty.  I stamped a partial image of Mary, only capturing the Baby Jesus.  I embossed it and fussy cut it out.  Then I used an hobby knife to cut a slit in the hay to slightly insert the Baby Jesus image. I also used a fine tip pen to draw a face on baby Jesus.

I stamped the sentiment, "O holy night" using Misty Moonlight ink using the smallest die in the Textured Notes dies. I cut several more rectangles from the set and layered them on the card.

This is a fabulous stamp set and truly represents the beautiful holiday season.  I've created several cards with it and hope to make several more.  You can see the other cards by looking back over my blog.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed Sunday!
