I love using nutcrackers for decorating during the holiday season and now I'll be able to do some paper crafting with these beautiful iconic images!
On Nov. 1st, you can view a free crafting class as SU! demonstrators share alternative projects they have created with this cute all inclusive kit.
You can purchase the kit ahead of time and craft along with them or just watch and create later!
I have recently purchased the kit and am going to share a couple of my alternatives today. I had so much fun creating with these cut guys and am very excited to attend the SU! class.
If you want to purchase a kit, I have provided the link for you, Nutcracker Kit. At only $14, you may want to order it soon, as it may sell out before the class on Nov. 1st.
For the first card, I cut a piece of green glitter paper to 5.5 x 4.25 and adhered it to an A2 Basic White card base. I cut a piece of the Elegant Pine Snowflake DSP a quarter inch smaller and used Tombow glue to adhere it to the glitter paper. I cut a rectangular piece of silver paper, rounded the corners and used a scoring tool to add lines an eighth of an inch around the edge to resemble a cookie sheet. I created a lot of baking elements and my sentiment using the Homemade Treats Bundle.
I used one of the nutcracker tags to create my cookie. I used a Stampin Blend Dark Pecan Pie marker to outline the image changing the green background to brown. I used a black glaze pen to color over the black details to resemble frosting piping.
To finish off the card, I used the adorable peppermint embellishments that add the perfect touch!
For my second card, I used the girl nutcracker from the kit, removing the tag portion. I used the Elegant Pine Snowflake DSP for my background on this card as well. My card base is the same as the one above only I used gold glimmer paper. I used the new Three Banner Punch (this will be available in early November in the Online Exclusives Store) to create my sentiments on Poppy Parade card stock and embossed with sentiments from the Gift of Joy stamp set. I used a hole punch to cut some circles to use as embellishments to finish off the card.
