This is a fun card that combines a book binding fun fold with a gate fold card. It looks complicated, but is really quite easy! This design works well with scenery DSP as well as other designs.
Begin by cutting a card base at 4 1/4 x 11.
On the 11 inch side, score at 2 1/8, 3 3/8 and 8 1/2. Fold in at the 3 3/8 score line. This will be the flap you glue down to create the book binding side. The fold at the 8 1/2 side is the right side of the card.
Cut your DSP as follows:
4" x 1" (book binding piece)
4" x 4" (cut in half for the gate fold)
Steps to create the card.
1. Score and fold on all lines.
2. Glue the right, book binding side to the base.
3. With Pecan Pie ink, use the stamping off method to stamp the Elements of Text script on the 4 "x 1" sheet of linen design DSP and glue to the front left of the card.
3. Glue the left side of the gate fold DSP to the left side of the gate on the card stock. Repeat with the right side.
4. Adhere the ornate vintage frame (directions for creating in a previous post) to the left side of the gate only. Otherwise, the card will not open.
5. Use the smallest flag die from the Stylish Shapes dies to cut a piece of linen DSP and another from Basic Beige card stock. Adhere these together.
6. Using the "Hello Friend" from the Storybook Friends stamp set, mask off the "Hello" with a piece of washi tape, ink the stamp in Pecan Pie ink, remove the tape and stamp on the small flagged die to create the "Friend" tag. Adhere this to only the left side of the card as well.
7. Use brown twine to tie a bow around the left side of the card.
