This month's Paper Pumpkin kit is beautiful with the cool tone colors and thankful sentiments but I decided to challenge myself and create a Halloween card with the stamps and other pieces from the kit. I used traditional orange and black colors for the card stock and ink. The gold leaf sheets had a lot of negative space so I cut out a few stars for the background.

Have you tried Shimmery Paste yet?
Shimmery Paste is a great way to add texture and sparkle to your creations! You will need a mask of your choice (I used the Abundant Beauty snowflake one from Stampin' Up!), card stock, a craft spatula to spread it and the shimmery paste.
To apply the paste, simply place your mask over your card stock and apply tape to the edge to hold it in place. Use the spatula to spread the paste over the mask, completely covering the cut out areas. Immediately remove the mask and rinse the paste off the mask and the spatula. Allow it to completely dry then complete your card as desired.

You're the Pick of the Patch Shaker Card
Are you a fan of shaker cards? This one is one of the easiest to make! You only need a clear envelope and some shaker bits to complete it.
I started by creating a background using the Pick of the Patch stamp set with a variety of fall colors. I stamped a stack of pumpkins and falling leaves to give it an autumn vibe. Then I ink blended in orange around the edges. I placed the panel in a clear envelope, then folded over three sides attaching them to the back then added my shaker pieces. Once I had them in place, I sealed the fourth edge.
I glued the shaker to a white panel, then an orange card base. I cut a thin frame from bronze card stock and glued it to the front.
Last, I embossed the "You're the Pick of the Patch" in white on brown card stock, used a stitched rectangle die to cut it out and used dimensional sticker pieces to adhere it to the panel.
All that is left is to place it in the envelope and send it to a special friend!

Crafter's Block? Check out this tip!
Crafter's block? Here’s a tip to work through it! Sometimes I have time to craft, but NOTHING comes to mind.
When this happens, I create in a compartmentalized way. I may color images, punch out or die cut images, create embossed or blended backgrounds, etc. Then I store the items in clear envelopes on my desk to pull out the next time an idea comes to mind!

Two Way Pumpkins
Have you seen the new Pick of the Patch stamp set by Stampin' Up! Most of the cards have shown this small pumpkin with the rounded edges facing up, but I decided to flip it and place the rounded edges at the bottom on this card. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, so I'm thinking these darling little pumpkins can go either way!
I used second generation stamping to achieve two different orange and gray colors for the pumpkins and stems. I also white embossed the sentiment on Basic Gray card stock and finished it off with a black and white plaid bow and a few black dots.

Inked Botanicals Patterned Paper
I absolutely love the colors in this paper pack! It screams FALL to me and I love fall! I used the same sketch to create cards two, three and four, then the last card was created with the left over scrap pieces!
I began by taking 3 pieces of coordinating sheets of 6x6 DSP and cutting them down to 5 and a quarter by 4. I layered the three pieces and made random cuts to divide the paper into thirds. I placed the cut sheets in three different stacks so that each stack had 3 different patterns. Then it was just a matter of adhering them to a card, adding a focal point and sentiment.
This is a simple layout that is easy to complete and works well with coordinating papers (and for those of us who craft often, who doesn't have stacks of patterned papers!) (;

You Rise Above the Rest Halloween Card
This background for this Halloween card was created with Starry Night card stock using a cloud stencil and dark gray ink with a blending brush. I also splattered some white pigment ink and a few drops of water to create the nighttime stars. I used the Tim Holtz Moon Mask with light gray ink and a blending brush to complete the moon. The bats were punched out with back glitter card stock. The clouds were punched out of vellum paper
Lastly, the sentiment is from the August 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit, Meaningful Flowers.
